Humanity created the robotic Cylons to be their servants. When the Cylons gained intelligence, both races warred until the Cylons agreed to leave the Colonies to found their own world. Now, after 40 years without a trace of the Cylons, humanity’s children are returning home.

The aging Battlestar Galactica enters the battle while the Colonies fall against the Cylon onslaught. Commander Adama’s and President Roslin’s intentions clash when he prepares the Galactica for war and she orders the rag-tag fleet to flee with humanity’s survivors. Baltar warns of possible Cylon agents aboard the Galactica; the fleet begins a lonely quest. Shortly before the Cylon attack against the colonies, the Special Colonial Air Group assigned to the Battlestar Therion, Ghost Squadron, undertakes a dangerous mission.
