Website hosting fees are becoming more expensive every year. Hosting fees used to be reasonable, but the market has changed to where the first year is fine, but after that fees start to soar, and changing hosts frequently is a tedious and time-consuming process. And, unfortunately, the site ads aren't covering it. If you can, please consider a small donation to PopApostle with the PayPal button below...any amount is appreciated. Thank you!

If donations are strong enough, I will eliminate the site ads.
Besides the ongoing studies already progressing, coming soon to PopApostle,

Indy and the Nazis encounter the remnant Shintay people of Atlantis!

Notes from the Indiana Jones chronology

This issue takes place in 1936.

Notes from The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones

The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones is a 2008 publication that purports to be Indy's journal as seen throughout The Young Indiana Chronicles TV series and the big screen Indiana Jones movies. The publication is also annotated with notes from a functionary of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation, the successor agency of the Soviet Union's KGB security agency. The KGB relieved Indy of his journal in 1957 during the events of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The notations imply the journal was released to other governments by the FSB in the early 21st Century. However, some bookend segments of The Young Indiana Chronicles depict Old Indy still in possession of the journal in 1992. The discrepancy has never been resolved.

The journal as published does not mention the events of this issue, going from the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1936 to Indy's recovery of the Cross of Coronado in 1938 in The Last Crusade.

Didja Notice?

Hiding in a cave to elude the Nazis, Indy and Marion soon hear an animal's growl from the darkness in the back of the cave. Indy tells Marion not to scream, which would attract the Nazis, after all the animal could be something "totally harmless, like a chimp or an aardvark..." However, chimpanzees are hardly "totally harmless". There have been a number of instances of chimps attacking and mauling humans, causing severe injuries, permanent disfigurement, and even death.

On page 4, fraulein is German for "miss".

When Indy, Marion, McIver, and the Nazis are confronted by Shintay warriors, one of the warriors shouts, "Peechalay! Sawm Kreesto!" and "Kreenko hala-mooska! Tuta!" The first declaration actually appears to be in the old Gujarati language of the Indian state of Gujarat, and translates as something like "Last! Hail Christ!"

As he is tied to an altar pole by the Shintay, Korporal Brunner shouts at them to unhand him and calls them schwein. This is German for "pig".

On page 9, Brunner says lieber gott. This is German for "dear God".

On page 12, Vogel says nein. This is German for "no".

On page 15, Vogel says kameraden and schnell. These is German for "comrades" and "quickly".
