In 2009, John Connor leads his first attack against Skynet.
Didja Notice?
On the
Stjepan Sejic cover of this issue, a resistance fighter is
wearing a Terminator skull as a shoulder guard.
The number of passenger windows on the resistance school bus
changes throughout this issue and later ones, varying from
8, to 9, to 12.
On page 1, the L.A. resistance cell is fleeing to
Albuquerque, NM, avoiding Interstate 40, choked with
automotive carcasses. Interstate 40 is a real world freeway
system which begins its western end in Barstow, CA and
passes through
Albuquerque, continuing to North Carolina.
On page 2, the resistance convoy stops at an old Christian
radio broadcast station in
Albuquerque, Epiphany 107.7 FM. This appears to be a
fictitious radio station.
On page 5, one of the potential appropriate responses to Buzz's
disgruntlement displayed on Uncle Bob's POV display is "No
problemo," a phrase taught to the protector T-800 by John in
Judgment Day.
Page 7 indicates that John has been with the resistance cell
for seven days and they are already looking to him for
leadership.
Page 8 indicates that the Skynet hub in 2033 is near Dismal
River, Nebraska. This is an actual river in that state.
On page 14, panel 1, the resistance semi-truck appears to
have a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror.
The hanging of
fuzzy dice from the rear-view mirror of an automobile was
popular in the U.S. from the 1950s-80s.
On page 19, the semi crashes into an old cafe called Milly's
Grill. This appears to be a fictitious establishment in the
Albuquerque area.
