The quote by Dr. Ian Malcolm seen at the beginning of this motion comic was originally said by him in the climax of Fallen Kingdom: "Humans and dinosaurs are now going to be forced to coexist. These creatures were here before us and if we're not careful they're going to be here after..."

Television news reporter Rebecca Ryan states that protests continue outside the capital as concerned citizens fight for both protection for themselves and for dinosaur rights. The U.S. capital is Washington D.C.

On her news telecast, Rebecca reports they're handing off to Bo Kalani at the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii, who is covering the Big Wave Surfing Competition, which has been interrupted by the appearance of a Mosasaurus. Oahu is the third-largest and the most populated island of the Hawaiian Islands that make up the U.S. state of Hawaii. The Big Wave Surfing Competition appears to be fictitious, though big wave surfing is a recognized discipline within the larger surfing culture, in which surfers paddle or are towed into waves that are 20 feet or more high. The north shore of Oahu is known as a big wave surf point.

At 1:09 in the motion comic, the unnamed surfer that Kalani talks to on the beach is wearing a Jaws t-shirt. Jaws is a 1975 American thriller-horror film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. Spielberg, of course, also directed Jurassic Park and The Lost World.

At 2:01 in the motion comic, Isla Nublar is the (fictitious) island far off the coast of Costa Rica where Jurassic World (and the earlier, never opened Jurassic Park) was located. The distance between Costa Rica (or Isla Nublar) and Hawaii is almost 5000 miles, just as Rebecca states here.
